Missing tissue compensation is increasingly the method of choice for producing 3D intensity modulation to attain uniform 3-D dose distribution for optimum therapeutic effect. Medicalibration's Compute Rx-Comp© utilizes laserline generation and video imaging technology. It provides, by far, the most accurate and easily used missing tissue compensator fabrication system available in the world. ComputeRx-Comp© makes tissue compensation easily affordable and convenient for any therapy facility wanting accurate contour determination with minimum patient discomfort and maximum performance and efficiency.
The PC3D© computer treatment planing system can generate a compensator file and then generate a milling machine control file and produce the compensator using the milling machine option. However, some other computer treatment planning systems on the market today only have the ability to calculate compensator filters but are then unable to provide a milling machine to actually produce the compensator that they design.
Medicalibration can provide the milling machine and the computers and conversion software to actually produce the compensator from those other treatment planning systems compensator files. This milling machine option is separately available from Medicalibration to allow the users of those systems to have the same advantages to their patients that are afforded by the PC3D system.
The method of choice for production of the missing tissue compensator is the ComputeRx-Comp© three axis-milling machine controlled directly by computer. Milling machine methods are available to support Styrofoam molds for either cerrobend or steel/gypsum castings, or direct lead/polyethylene block milling. Direct milling eliminates any messy mixing of plaster slurries or the hazardous casting of molten materials. It affords uniform production of high quality tissue compensators for the finest in therapy control.
The collected data is converted to the X-Y-Z coordinate system by a PC compatible computer The data may be reviewed, edited, stored, and is subsequently used to generate the actual missing tissue compensator from a variety of media.
The milling machine assembly consists of a three axis, gantry type milling machine manufactured to precise and exact specifications. It is enclosed with the controller and the vacuum system in a housing for dust control, safety and sound control. Clear plastic doors in front of the milling machine area allow one to observe the progress of the fabrication while
containing the debris and deadening the sound.
Medicalibration also provides a remote milling service to enable any site to have the benefits of a milled compensator. See the entry under Services
If you need the ability to measure the compensator from the patient and dont have the necessary 3D planning computer, you can still take advantage of the benefits of compensator use. We invite you to compare ComputeRx-Comp© with any available missing tissue compensation system. You will discover that no other compensator system provides you with greater accuracy, convenience, speed, reliability and value. It is simply the finest system available in the world for providing missing tissue compensation to accomplish better dose distribution uniformity for the benefit of your patients.
