The data required for this planning system consists of all of and at least the following for each modality and energy and for each photon wedge:
A) Basic machine data
1) FSR (Field size ratios) dose at Dmax relative to 10x10 field
2) wedge factors
3) default tray factors
4) gantry convention information
5) calibrated output and calibration date for Cobalt-60
B) a complete set of percent depth dose curves (or tables)
1) for all or representative field sizes (see below)
2) for photons : from surface to at least 30 cm. (40 preferred)
for electrons: from surface to < 3%
C) a complete set of cross axis profiles
1) for all or representative field sizes (see below)
2) MUST be 5 equally spaced scans spaced as follows:for photons:
1st profile scan at Dmax, then
4 more scans at 8 cm. incrementsfor electrons:
with the 2nd profile scan at Dmax
and the 5th at the electron range
NOTE: except first not less than 2 mm. deep
NOTE:
minimal data set may neglect Percent Depth Dose scans for wedges
minimum representative field sizes: 4,6,8,10,12,15,20,25,30,40 with
wedge maximum field size limited to maximum of wedge capability.
